ZTE Intelligent Automobile Manufacturing Project in Zhuhai laid the foundation with an investment of 14.6 billion yuan

It is reported that ZTE's intelligent vehicle manufacturing and research and development base covers a total area of approximately 1200 acres, with a total investment of 14.6 billion yuan, mainly engaged in the research and development, design, production and manufacturing of new energy vehicles. The project will be constructed in two phases.

Tian Wenguo, Chairman of ZTE Intelligent Automobile Co., Ltd., revealed that it is expected that the first phase of the project will be completed and put into operation by November next year. The first phase of the project is designed to produce 10000 new energy vehicles (buses) and 20000 new energy logistics vehicles.

In addition, the base will also plan to build an international first-class research and development center for new energy vehicles, and develop comprehensive solutions for future new energy vehicles and smart transportation through ZTE's leading market position in 5G mobile communication, automotive wireless charging, and other fields.

According to the data, ZTE Intelligent Vehicle Co., Ltd. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of ZTE Communications Co., Ltd. It was registered and established in Zhuhai in July 2016, undertaking the mission of ZTE Communications Co., Ltd. to expand into the field of new energy vehicles. At the end of July, ZTE Communications signed a merger agreement with Guangtong Bus, a bus manufacturing company in Zhuhai, to serve as an initial production capacity delivery platform.
